چکیده
Introduction: Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) in the management of HIV/AIDS has made it possible to significantly reduce its incidence and morbidity mortality. The objective this study was identify factors affecting levels non-adherence HAART. Methods: investigator conducted a cross-sectional at Lerato Clinic Bertha Qxowa Hospital Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa from September 2019 December 2019. Were included participate, those being more than 18 years old, on HAART for least three months, consenting attending clinic that period. Non-adherence defined as taking their medication ≤ 95% time. A threshold >5% considered high, with P <0.05 statistically significant. Results: Of total 278 participants study, average age 41 ± 13 minimum 19 maximum 75 years, male predominance 56% (n ꞊ 156); 19% patients showed adherence 95%, which 13.31 (n=37) were men 5.4% (n=15). High blood pressure, hyperuricemia, hyperglycemia, LDL-hypercholesterolemia emerged clinico-biological determinants associated People who often found toxic/bad cared partners/spouses/parents risk non-adherence. Similarly, people busy doing other things "often" parent likely adhere Systolic pressure (SBP), uric acid, sugar, LDL cholesterol higher values. Conclusion: Effective requires <5% At end present individuals cardiometabolic. All these observations affirmed holistic multidisciplinary nature care.

متن کاملFactors Affecting Treatment Adherence among HIV-Positive Patients in Eritrea
Strict adherence to anti-retroviral therapy (ART) is critical for sustained suppression of viral replication and prevention of opportunistic infections that often lead to disability or death. With increased availability of ART in recent years, achievement of optimal adherence has become very important in the management of HIV/AIDS in Eritrea. To assess the factors affecting adherence to ART of ...
متن کاملCorrelates of Antiretroviral Therapy Adherence among HIV-Infected Older Adults.
BACKGROUND Despite the success of antiretroviral therapy (ART), HIV-infected older African Americans experience higher mortality rates compared to their white counterparts. This disparity may be partly attributable to the differences in ART adherence by different racial and gender groups. The purpose of this study was to describe demographic, psychosocial, and HIV disease-related factors that i...
متن کاملPredictors of non-adherence to antiretroviral therapy among HIV infected patients in northern Tanzania
BACKGROUND Antiretroviral therapy (ART) has been shown to reduce HIV-related morbidity and mortality amongst those living with HIV and reduce transmission of the virus to those who are yet to be infected. However, these outcomes depend on maximum ART adherence, and HIV programs around the world make efforts to ensure optimal adherence. Predictors of ART non-adherence vary considerably across po...
متن کاملSocioeconomic factors explain suboptimal adherence to antiretroviral therapy among HIV-infected Australian adults with viral suppression
BACKGROUND Missing more than one tablet of contemporary antiretroviral therapy (ART) per month increases the risk of virological failure. Recent studies evaluating a comprehensive range of potential risk factors for suboptimal adherence are not available for high-income settings. METHODS Adults on ART with undetectable viral load (UDVL) were recruited into a national, multi-centre cohort, com...
